STRATHTAY GOLF CLUB - LOCAL RULES
OUT OF BOUNDS - A ball is deemed out of bounds if it is
played over any boundary fence, dyke or into Broom Cottage Garden. A ball is
out of bounds at the 8th and 17th if a shot from the tee is played over the
marked line between Hope Cottage Garden wall and the new 1st Medal Tee. White
stakes mark either side of this hue. This rule is enacted in the interests of
INTEGRAL PART OF COURSE - All other fences and dykes are integral parts of the course and the ball must be played, as it lies, or deemed unplayable
LATERAL WATER HAZARDS - The burn on the left hand side of the 2nd fairway, and the ditch at the back of the 5th green, are lateral water hazards. All other lateral water hazards are marked with red posts.
ROADS/CAR PARK ETC: Any ball coming to rest on a constructed road, path or car park within the
bounds of the course may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay.which (a) is not nearer the hole, (b) avoids interference, (c) is not m a hazard, or (d) on a putting green.
MOVEABLE OBSTRUCTIONS - Stones in bunkers are moveable obstructions.
STEPS - If a ball comes to rest on or near steps, so as to interfere with play, a drop without penalty, not nearer the hole, is permitted.
OVERHEAD WIRES AND PROTECTIVE FENCING AT 8th/17th - If a ball strikes an overhead wire, the stroke must be replayed without penalty, from as near as possible to the point from which the original stroke was played. If a ball driven from the 8th or 17th tee strikes the protective fencing round the tees the tee shot must be re-taken.
GRAVEL DRAINS - If a ball comes to rest on. or near, the gravel drains, so as to interfere with play, a drop, without penalty, not nearer the hole, is permitted.
